Moving Past The Fear of Judgement - Challenge the Negative Thoughts
Welcome, Friends, Family, and Fans, to episode 45 of the FOZA Podcast for maternal mental wellness. We are bringing you information that we hope will help stop the stigma, the silence, the suicides, and the suffering that can accompany postpartum depression.
This episode is entitled: Moving Past The Fear of Judgement, where we continue to answer some of the questions submitted by our podcast audience related to Postpartum issues beyond the 555. For newcomers to the podcast, the 555 stands for the 1st five days, the 1st five weeks, and the first five months in postpartum care. That conversation started in episode 43, and we’ve received a wonderful response, plus anticipation because we did not answer the final question on episode 44.
Highlights in this episode:
Challenging Negative Thoughts in Three Ways
Taking Small Steps Toward Reaching Out
Seeking Professional Help
Building a Support System at Your Own Pace

Welcome FOZA Family, Friends, and Fans to Episode 43 of the Friends of Zayne Adams Podcast for The Awareness of Postpartum Depression, Suicide prevention, and education for the children who are left behind.
In today’s podcast, we want to create an engaging and supportive conversation that provides both practical information and emotional support to mothers navigating challenges, especially when faced with concerns such as insurance uncertainty and job instability, particularly in the postpartum period. It’s because there are lots of moms who contribute to the household finances and some who are the primary source of medical insurance for the entire family. We know that fathers are facing the same uncertainties, and it’s putting entire families in a stressful atmosphere, but it's never too early or too late to plan for less stress.
In this Episode, we will highlight:
Navigating employment and health insurance uncertainty
The importance of tracking your postpartum recovery
Building your support network
Understanding you are not going through this alone
Tools—track your recovery
Your job does not define your worth

This is Episode 37, titled Supporting New Moms – Tips for Partners and Caregivers
We here at FOZA believe there can never be too much information available to support pregnant people and their support systems. Yes there is a ton of information available, but as we learned at a recent community event, not all mothers get all of the information that may be helpful to them. And that’s why we have to be relentless in sharing valuable information.
Moving along…FOZA is sending a shout-out to Fuller Doulas, MamaBirthdServices, NK-The Whole Mom and VelaHaven These maternal health workers hosted an Amazing Community Baby Shower Event @ the Huntington Community Center on September 21st in Bowie MD. and very special thanks to Postpartum Support International MaryLand Chapter, and the many other vendors, speaker and professionals who supported this awesome event, for over a hundred attendees of moms and family who came out. We invite you to visit the FOZA site for an IG link to view some of the festivities. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAg-up8JZFe/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
In this episode of the FOZA podcast, we’re focusing on the caregivers and the people around expectant moms and new moms, and we hope to expand on the information we presented in our last podcast. In this episode we will highlight many areas. I’ll just name a few:
The Power of Partnership
Creating a Safe Haven for Conversations
Active Listening

Small Gestures, have a Big Impact

This is Episode 36, titled Emotional Support – The Benefits for Maternal Mental Wellness
This episode is dedicated to National Maternal Suicide Awareness Week, Sept 9 through 13, and for the entire month of September and Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
I invite you to add to what you hear, discuss what you hear, and share what you believe is beneficial. Awareness is one of our core missions, and we know there are many aspects involved, so even if you know every point that's being made in the podcast, please keep sharing. Perhaps you will touch someone who may not be as well-informed as you are.
Highlights:
Why she may not ask for or accept help
She may feel as if she is burdening others
She may want to prove her independence
She may feel embarrassed or ashamed
She may have had past negative experiences
She may even be unsure of exactly what help she needs or where to look and she want to avoid appearing to be ignorant about a topic we’ve been programmed to believe is “natural”
She may feel she should know instinctively how to care for her baby, and she feels “less-than,” which can exacerbate her feelings of being overwhelmed.
The ACTIONS you can take to help build her trust
